The son of a Dutch physician and a Chinese-American novelist, Josh Gerritsen was born on the island of Oahu and lived there until the age of six.  His parents thought it was best to move the family from paradise to another coastal town, albeit a much colder one.  They landed in Camden, Maine and he spent the rest of his childhood there.

After graduating from Skidmore College in 2006, Josh spent the next 2 1/2 months photographing Southeast Asia.

Josh has been shooting freelance assignments for a variety of clients since 2004.  He specializes in editorial and portrait photography.

He currently lives in Jersey City.
