I have been captivated by the power of the ocean ever since I was a child. Rocks in Water represents this power, with the picture literally being painted with the passage of time through a long exposure. It is the force of the ocean that compels the constant movement of water, creating an ethereal mist that surrounds the rock.

I only capture my photographs when certain conditions collide: a clear sky, an early dawn hour, and an outgoing tide that has recently reached its apex. It was in this very short and narrow time frame that I could get the right amount of rock popping out of the water with the perfect stream of sunlight gliding across the top of the frame.

Rocks in Water is about the darkness that surrounds us. But the light is just around the corner if you wait for it.
